Crocodile Safari and Guhagar Beach with Pagal Mates!!

This weekend (3rd-4th NOV 2012) it was time to meet some crocodiles in the Maldoli river in Chiplun and then enjoying the serene  beaches of Guhagar with Trek Mates India.I have been going to so many treks with the Mates now that we have become a bunch of crazy Pagals now.. This was my first ever Tour with them though.

CROCODILE SAFARI AT MALDOLI BACKWATERS.

We left Dadar at around 11:30 on Friday 2nd Nov night in a bus which from inside looked nothing less than a Limo..with awesome and intelligent lighting and crisp ad loud music system we knew from the start its going to be a tour to remember. Picking up our fellow travellers at various places we then got onto the NH 17 Mumbai Panaji highway. All 12 of us  asked our sleep to be at bay as we were too busy singing...we then reached our Host's house for the crocodile safari at Maldoli. We had our introduction round which was special beacuse for the first time we had a sit-down,round-table introduction.. After the obvious Chaha-Kande Pohe breakfast we left in the boat for our crocodile safari.. With the LOW TIDE not being low enough the water hadnt receeded as much as it ideally shoud have leaving us a little chance of seeing crocodile. we roamed in the water for a good 1 hour and found around 18 odd crocodiles of different shapes and sizes.I think given the situation we were very lucky to see that many of them... We then came back to our staying place and had a awesome session of the card game MAFIA.. which made people Friends, enemies and much more... and then some delicious lunch waited for us.. During the lunch there were some bonds made well long lasting ones indeed... afterwards it was time to proceed to the next stop Guhagar...

GUHAGAR BEACH
After the Crocodiles it was time to go to Guhagar and meet other sea creatures like crabs, star fishes and JELLY FISHes... We took our bus from Maldoli to Guhagar,Checked into the Beach resort owned by Mr. Khare who was a very nice and warm welcoming host to us. We got our rooms as well as a tent right on the beach itself. We went on to the beach to enjoy one of the cleanest beaches I have ever seen.
Manoj, our leader went and joined the local guys who were playing beach cricket. All was going well and suddenly we heard one of our friends screaming as she was bitten by a Jelly fish in the season. After a little first aid she was all ready and set to go back in the ocean and everything was back to normal.. we all spent a little mor time on the beach took a long walk and came back to our rooms.
When the sunset was round the corner we had a very nice and close session of guitar playing and singing where one of our friends played some nice songs on my guitar (yes, i have a guitar but cant play anything except our National Anthem..). Afterwords we headed to the Market and the and Vyadeshwar temple in the Guhagar city, had some snacks and came back to our resort and continued with the songs..
After the dinner, which was again scrumptious konkani cuisine complete with a glass of SOLKADHI, it was GHOST stories time, even this time just like my last outing to RRK i saved myself by playing music in my earphones... then it was lights out.. Trust me Sleeping in a tent on a beach is an experience tht can not be expressed in words..

GOVALKOT FORT AND COMING BACK
Sunday Morning we all woke up early and got ready and left Guhagar with a lot of good memories and a promise to come back for the Turtle Season in Dec-Feb... We went on to visit the Govalkot fort near Chiplun which has very less reminents now but gives a wide birds eye view of the surrounding area and the Vasisthi river. On our way back we stopped for wht was the most memorable 15-20 minutes of our time it was time for eating BARF KA GOLA..... We enjoyed every slurp and every drop of it.. From there it was a way heading straight back home and with the PILOT OF A DRIVER we had we reached home eralier than anyone expected...

          CONCLUSION
All in all, after so many tiring and exausting and thrilling treks this was a nice, smooth and calming experience of a tour with company of 12 nicest people and though somehow by the end of it i became the RAVAN i still enjoyed every bit of the weekends all thanks to my fellow mates, Manoj (the LEADER), Mahesh and Anand (The silent Spectators), Sourabh(sole Punekar), Viral (Commission agent cum Machine-gun photographer),Clyde (The Experienced One), Chintan(Our very own American Accent wala English speaker), Muthu (Gadgets and Books and Coke Studio), Sai ( Multitalent Personified), Kalpana( Bus seat Partner, My best friend on the tour ) and Dolly (the self-proclaimed center of attraction / Drama queen of our group)... with all these different sweet, spicy and tangy people we made a delscious BHEL of a weekend..

All that remains is one question "Is it too early to say it  or have I fallen in love with NATURE and its ETERNAL BEAUTY???"

See you all soon, till then Keep Travelling,Keep Living the Dream!!!!
